Born in Heidelberg, Germany, on an American army base, Lisa was 3 years old when she gave her debut performance in front of her local church congregation. It was then she realized music would be a passion she would always pursue; one that has taken her on an eventful journey ever since.
By the age of 8, Lisa's family already moved three times before settling their roots in the land of rhinestones and cowboy boots: Dallas, Texas. While in Texas, Lisa began her studies in music theory, piano and voice but shied away from the ever-present country music scene. Pop music and musicals kept her interests instead. She performed on-stage in musicals at Dallas community theater production houses and county fairs throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
A few years later, it was time for another move for Lisa's family - this time to Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta's r&b/soul music scene introduced Lisa to a new sound that helped further develop her musical roots. By the age of 12, Lisa began composing her own songs, working with local songwriters and producers such as Chris Smith from the hip-hop group Kris Kross and Tamika Scott of the R&B group, Xscape. At 16, Lisa produced her first collection of seven r&b/pop songs which gained her recognition in Atlanta's music industry.
Like many artists, Lisa also began taking advantage of the new union between music and the internet in the late 90's. She began to showcase her material on Billboard Magazine's Billboard Talent Net and Ed McMahon's Next Big Star. Within two weeks of her appearance on Billboard's site, Lisa Christine was ranked as the #1 solo artist. Her song, I Don't Know Why stayed at the #1 position for four consecutive weeks. She was also voted Best Female Vocalist by web surfers on Next Big Star.com.
At 18, with two suitcases in her hands and a one-way ticket, Lisa moved from Atlanta to New York City to chase her dreams on a much larger scale. Not long after, she began to perform in New York clubs such as The Lion’s Den, Wilson’s, The Bitter End, The Red Lion and The Underscore. She also performed at Harlem’s legendary Apollo Theater on It’s Showtime at the Apollo, winning its Amateur Night competition and receiving a standing ovation from one of the hardest audiences in the country. Soon afterward, Lisa was a featured finalist on the VH1 special, I Wanna Be A Diva.
With a desire to gain more knowledge about the entertainment and media industry, Lisa enrolled at Fordham University in New York City in early 2000. During her college years, she continued to write, record and perform her own material, this time with a more rock/pop sound. While city life and the creative energy in New York City was fulfilling, Lisa often reminisced of her days back in Texas and Georgia by listening to country music. Amongst the skyscrapers and city sounds, country music took on a new meaning for Lisa, as it comforted her and began to inspire her in new ways musically.
After graduating in May of 2004 from Fordham with a B.A. in Media Studies and Business, Lisa joined The Orchid Thieves, a country/rock/Americana band giging at local New York City clubs such as The Red Lion, Coda and the Knitting Factory. Challenging herself creatively, Lisa also tried her hand at writing country songs.
Her first country song, Gone Crazy, Be Back Soon, written by Lisa and Ashleigh Wehmeyer, received recognition by Nashville Songwriters Association International and was placed on their "Best of Song Evaluations" compilation CD in late 2006. The feedback Lisa received from the song inspired her to continue to write country music as well as record the material of other talented writers in the genre.
In the winter of 2006, Lisa made the "big move" to Nashville and began writing and recording with some of the best Music City has to offer. She performed in Nashville hot spots such as The Bluebird Cafe, The Commodore, The French Quarter and Lyrix. She also got work as a demo singer, recording songs for some of Nashville's up and coming writing talents.
While she loved Nashville, Lisa discovered her heart was really in the Big Apple. She returned to New York City in late 2007 where she continues to perform, write and record with the best of both worlds - Nashville and NYC talents.
